SPIRIT BEAR LODGE
Located in the heart of The Great Bear Rainforest, Spirit Bear Lodge offers access to the world's most intact temperate rainforest and remote natural spaces. With only 50-150 Spirit Bears left in the wild, we hold a great responsibility in viewing these bears and all of the wildlife of The Great Bear Rainforest in their natural habitat with respect and minimal impact. We aim to intertwine transformative wilderness exploration with authentic Cultural experiences. We are the Kitasoo Xai’xais Peoples and we have resided on this land since time immemorial. Our tours offer a chance to build a deep connection to the land, water, wildlife and Cultural sites of our Unceded Traditional Territory of the Kitasoo Xai’xais First Nation.
We connect the land’s stories to our People’s history while guiding you through rich wilderness and wildlife viewing areas— areas that have had important Cultural context within our Nation since the beginning.
Our lodge is located on Reserve so when you visit, you are directly contributing to our Nation’s economy, providing employment for many of our members and supporting our conservation initiatives.

OCEAN-FRONT LODGING
Architecturally, the exterior of the lodge pays homage to our Traditional Longhouses and overlooks the hidden ocean passage which is home to whales, otters, and other marine wildlife. We are lucky to be nestled between mountains and tall Cedar Trees. At night, there is no light pollution which allows for star-gazing as you've never seen before. A stay at Spirit Bear Lodge is one to be remembered.
BESPOKE WILDERNESS TOURS
At Spirit Bear Lodge we don't use any manufactured viewing stations— preferring instead to explore the land in an organic way. This style of exploration is becoming a lost art in the adventure-based travel industry. We see the value of conducting tours that look different each day because our goal is to provide authentic experiences and a true connection to the land.

We incorporate Traditional Cultural experiences and connect the land's stories to our Peoples by bringing you to the sites of historic villages, ancient fish traps and pictographs. Conservation is part of our mission and our offerings are not profit-driven. Instead, we look for ways to minimize our impact through buying carbon credits to offset emissions and contribute to local conservation efforts while practicing sustainability on every level.

GUEST ROOMS
Our clean and comfortable guest rooms are a welcoming place to lay your head after a full day of exploration and adventure. The rooms are spacious, yet cozy, and can be configured with a king-sized bed or a pair of twin beds. Each room overlooks an ocean channel which is a popular passageway for whales and other marine wildlife.
